Alaska - Going there next

So we decided to next go to Alaska - Alaska has been always one of my dreams so it will be really cool, the only thing which is not certain yet is will we have the money for it or no? now, we both still working, still making money, no other time or trip money was an issue, the only difference now is that 2 days ago, we bought a house!!! yes yes - we bought a house, and it wasn't cheap i must tell you.

So, now we own a house, never had a house before so it is a big thing probably, money wise especially...will that affect my Alaska trip? hopefully not.

Once we will move to the house and start paying all those bills and crap, i will be able to check my budget, hopefully it will turn out positive

So what is the plan? flying during June to Alaska (which will probably be a nightmare giving the fact i am suffer from flight fear...3 flights or so - yes, that will be a treat ha?

once there, we will rent a car, drive, see amazing places, eat like animals...you know like any other one of our trips - we love nature, we love shopping (are there any outlets in Alaska? or will i need to make a stop at NY?) and love to eat....ye...we are animals...

hopefully this will come to reality this year and not next one....i would really hate to postponed this one....maybe i should count on a big bonus this year? ohhh my god, i hope this is not my only chance....

Plannign a Trip For Another Friend

So now another friend of mine is going to go traveling through West USA this summer, so it is really cool (this is defiantly one of my favorite areas) so i was giving her some tips on where to go and what do to and stuff like that, but nothing is final yet (dates, or length of trip) - hopefully she will be able to do all we planned

Planning a trip for a friend

I always say that planning is almost as fun as actually travel, so now, i am just back from our trip and a friend requested me to help her plan a trip for her and her daughter, it will be in June or in September (I told her not to go during the summer vacation..it is crazy) and it will be for one week or 2 weeks- she doesn't know yet.

anyway, i have all kind of suggestions for one week, but if she will be able to go on a 2 weeks trip, i just know I will have to send them to the Canadian Rockies - this is by far one of the best locations, and June (or even September) will be just perfect...dont you think?

We are Back

We are back, the tip was amazing
the weather was great (like 19-23 C all days) and sunshine and blue sky all over the place, we visited many snowy mountains and frozen lakes (and regular lakes as well) and it was great, the only problem is that Italian food is soooo good, we got really fat now - LOL

ok so since we still dont know what would be the smart way to do our trip (3 days to go) we are following the weather sites like crazy, we can do the following:
italy first then croatia then slovenia then swiss
or
croatia first then slovenia then italy and swiss
or
swiss first then italy then slovenia and then croatia

the logic thing is to go to croatia first then slvania and then italy and swiss - then italy and swiss parts are mainly high mountains kind of rides - but we will see according to weather and mainly rain.....will update probably a day before we leave

WooHoo - trip is final and car as well

We finally got our trip plan ready - basically it will be something like - landing in Milan - driving to Croatia (platvice park) from there 3 days at bled, bohini lake and triglav park - after that we will visit the dolmites and Venice and after that 3-4 days in Switzerland (center area) - we will visit titlis mountain and the Trambelbach Waterfalls and the close area.

Today we finally made the phone call we postponed for so long and reserved a car for us (it is sooo fucked up that when you get a car in Italy or wherever in Europe it is usually some small crap and when you reserve like the cheapest car in Germany it usually a Mercedes - unreal.

anyway, the order of places will be decided by weather so i guess 2 days or so before our flight we will decide it

Anyway - One week to go and we are out of here.

we have paid for our airfare tickets this morning so now it is final ,we will be flying on April 8 and we will be back home at April 20, we will be traveling as i said in the last post, through northern Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. we are really happy about this trip since we are finally using our frequent flayers miles which we thought we are going to lose, so saved a few bucks there...

now we need to rent a car which is turned out to be not that easy since when you rent a car in Italy not all companies allow traveling to Slovenia or Croatia, we found out Avis is allowing it so i guess we will go with that (we also have a member card with Avis so it will be nice to get the upgrade and so on.

Future Traveling Plans

We finally have our future traveling plans figured out, during 2 weeks in April we will be landing in Milan, Italy, we will rent a car, drive to Switzerland for a while, then travel around the Italian Dolomite and then drive to Slovenia and Croatia.
We have a total of 12 days or so but we will be able to visit most places we want, but we might not be able to get all the way to Dubrovnik and just visit the northern part of Croatia (we will see how it will goes and if weather will be on our side...)

Finally we have a general agreement for it - it wasn't easy this time...

Lapland Winter

Few years ago i was visiting Finish Lapland during the winter (well, the end of the winter - March) - this was a great dream of mine, I love snow, I love cold weather and this is was just the perfect chance to experience something like that.
A friend of mine and myself left on a plain to Budapest and switched flights -we then arrived to Helsinki and stayed there for a day - this city is nice but not the greatest or most beautiful city i ever visited, we were there so we got to see it, but its not like a place to fly especially to visit at.
then we took another flight to Rovaniemi.

Everything was white and snowy and it was amazing, we got to do some cool activities such as dog sledding, ice breaker tour, snowmobile and other snow related stuff. The coolest thing was probably when we drove 5 hours to the north to a small village called Inari and we got to see the northern lights there - it was amazing, we just went outside our cabin and sat on the snow for 3 hours in that night - we didnt even feel the cold - it was amazing.

In Review- Arches National Park- Utah

I decided today to write a bit about this small park but this park is probably the most amazing one, I think this one is my favorite, and even if not it is probably on my top 3 list.
I visited this park for the first time during 2004 after being to Utah already twice before but never get the chance to drive to arches NP since it is a bit far away than Zion and Bryce which usually get the most attention.
So we drove all the way there and got to Arches, this park is really small but it is so beautiful, tons of arches and each of them with different shape, size and color - we took a short hike to the double O arch which was really nice, but I must say that the most beautiful arch is the delicate arch
This park definitely worth a visit if you are visiting Utah, even if you are a bit far away.

In Review: Bryce National Park - Utah

Well, basically Bryce is one of my favorite national parks in the states so I am just in the mood to write about it some more and upload some pics of it, it is a really beautiful place - so if you haven't been there yet - take your bags, get into your car and drive to Utah, not much there but Bryce canyon, Arches and some other cool NP's are good enough of a reason font you think?

Few years ago you could drive in the park with your car, i have been there again 2 years ago and now there is a shuttle, while I was there you could chose the shuttle or your car but as i have seem in other parks usually after a while it will be only shuttle buses driving through the park - so I can imagine this is the case by now.

The best thing about this park is the fact that it is so small but the views are amazing, you don't have to drive a lot or hike for hours, even when you drive and stop at the view points you see amazing views - see for yourself below.

Finally im healthy

So after 2 weeks i am back to normal, healthy, back at work, back on Friday soccer, back on planning my next trip - so next we will probably fly to Milan, take a car there and travel north Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Swiss...it should be great i think - 2 and a half week probably during April - the cool things is that we bought these tickets through our frequent flayer points so basically - free flight - nice ha?

well, this is the plans for now - nothing is done yet but at least we have a plan

I am sick for a week now, i haven't been to work for 4 days in a row -which is not something i used to, now, since i am sick they told me not to come to my ct scan and reschedule it - which on the one hand was great since i hate this scan but on the other hand- i still need to do it - in 2 weeks i will have to do it anyway - so im not sure it was for the best but ....we will see

Tomorrow hopefully i will feel better and will be able to go to the park to play some soccer (i was sick and missed it last friday and I am not in the mood to miss it again)

CT Scan on Monday

I am going to have my CT scan this monday , now I am not ure but maybe this will be my last CT scan which is really cool - since I just hate this scan, it is the worse, you go there and they inject you some kind of crap, then you get this stuff , this awful stuff you have to drink like half a gallon of, and it is the worse you will taste ever, so you drink this crap and while doing it you are not allowed to do anything or to talk or whatever, just have to wait, after you finished this shit they take you to the CT scan room and you have to stay there, not move for about 30 minutes - not as easy as it sounds...i tell you that.

well, this Monday hopefully will be the last one for me for a while but the think is i am still a bit sick, so I am not even sure it is allowed to do it while you are sick - i need to find out before I get up at 6am for it.

In Reiew: Bodies - The Exhibition - Las Vegas

Well, one of the few things (other than massive shopping) we managed to do while staying at Vegas for the conference, was taking one evening off and goign to see Bodies - The Exhibition at the Luxor.
So first of all, I just love the luxor - this hotel is amazing, i really hated the fact it was too far from my conference so i had to stay somewhere else, but, I just love it. so we (my husband, a college from work and myself) went on a Friday night to this exhibition, now, my friend from work was like, i don't want to go there , I don't want to see dead people and so on, (plus it costs some money and this guy is really cheap...) anyway, after a while we convinced him and he came with us.
The exhibition was really interesting i think, and it is also not as gross as one might fear, you dont actually see it is real bodies and only the fact you know it makes you realize that - plus, the thing I actually liked the most is the fact that since these are real bodies, not everything is perfect, you will see a torn vessel and stuff like that, in opposite to a plastic or whatever models - so this is actually kind of nice.
The exhibition is very very informative and you get to see things you never even imagined and even for someone like me who hates museum and exhibitions usually it was super interesting, really recommend it. :-)

I am Sick

So some of my friends around the world started blogging or having some sites online so i decided to write about some of them....just to know what is going on with who.
so first of all Niki from Prague - she is a really sweet girl and she has started her degree now so she decided to become this poker champ or whatever in order to help with some extra money - personally im not sure this is the best way to make money (i kinda believe this is the best way to lose money but...we will see - come see her new blog at poker-girl

Now another friend of mine (from here) opened a site about well being or some kind of other i don't really know about so i have nothing to say about it but just check it out - his plan is too add all kind of cool tips for easier life like how to work from home or about in house safety and so on - check it out - home life

And yet another friend of mine decided to start a tech blog - nothing there yet but we will see how it will go - he like all this gadget and tech toys crap - so have fun....caveavin.org

and finally - i have also opened a new site with some friends - good-mood.co.il
its only Hebrew for now but the point there is to show only good news and not all the crap you see on the news all the time.

Back from Vegas

Vegas as always was great, we had a really really nice dinner one night to celebrate our anniversary at a french restaurant at the Venetian - was not cheap but the steaks were amazing

we went to see bodies at the loxur - was really amazing -it doesn't look that real, so its not that bad or something like that - but it is just strange - im glad we went though :)

we did a lot of shopping as usual so it was really fun ... and still my favorite - is the balagio
